It's just been so hot lately. I have enough energy to go to work, walk to and from my parking lot, pick up some items at the grocery store, and go back home to rest from the 4 or 2 block walks.
I can read, but I am behind on my blogging again (4 books). I hope to catch up soon.
I went to my university library to borrow three books, as recommended by other bloggers. If I like them, I will buy a new copy. The papers on these books have changed colors!
In the meantime, 3 bloggers, whom I regulary check, are racing to read all the Man Booker Longlist books. Have a look-see:
Sadly, I've never heard of any of these writers and right now, I am in my own little reading world and don't want to pick up any of the Bookers.

Whether the weather is hot not not, grocery shopping is not my favorite thing to do. I don't like getting tangled with all these moms with gigantic strollers that are in the way of the aisles. It's a small city here and everyone has to get the biggest cars, strollers, and laundry carts! *sigh*
I have grocery delivered to me now except for fresh produce, which I get at the farmer's market.
Matt, I am seeing fewer giant SVUs nowadays, even though Louisiana has one the cheapest gasoline costs in the nation. Seeing a Hummvee H2 or H3 is a rare sight also.
I wish that someone here would start a grocery delivery service. I would pay for it!
I went to a Farmer's Market this afternoon at 4:30 for 15 minutes and almost died. The heat index was 107F! My calves and back of my neck got burned. Even though the vendors have tents, it's not enough protection because I feel the heat rising from the parking lot (concrete and asphalt). All the vendors must be 10 pounds light when they get home.
Sorry the heat is so draining--I understand that feeling. Luckily it has not been too bad here for the last week. As for those readers reading all the Bookers--I don't think I could manage it, but I will look forward to hearins what they think of the books. There are a few on the list I wouldn't mind reading.
Last night, it rained, and I had a bit of energy.
It should cool off a little bit in a couple of weeks. yeah.
I know one of those three bloggers who are racing to read the longlist has quit the running. Not saying who, though. ;-)
Good luck with the race. Hope next year's readings are better.
