Illustration Friday - Fail

Fail is such a sad word, so I decided to make changes.

Fail is an acronym for Fun, Adventure, Interesting, and Lively.

I crocheted all the capital letters. I was inspired by snowflakes of the last few weeks, so I cut out one, and used it as a stencil with watercolor paint.

I used my new calligraphy pen to write the words and scribbles.

As an homage to my kindergarten teacher, Miss Lopez, I drew the L outside the border. I could never stay in the lines and draw straight, but she didn't fail me. I guess she understood that my motor skills were not up to par yet. What a nice lady!

"Fail" has the potential to be such a "downer" topic. What a great idea to create an acronym to subvert the negativity! Obviously, your glass is half-full!

I try to be positive.

I succeed most of the time.

Most people fail to see beyond the word. You definitely did so.
That in it's self is a win! win!
Cheers to you Isabel... Saludos, Lisa

I love how you add fibers to your work! I wish I could crochet--what a wonderful way to add texture to your collage. Were they remnant pieces, or did you make them with this in mind?

Flying Colors - I just didn't like the theme. I wanted to rebel. Gracias.

Danielle - no remenants. I did them while watching Law and Order.

After I did a chain long enough for the letter, I did a row of Double crochet. The upper parts of the first row looked loose, I did another row of double crochet to cover up the loose threads.

I have very small knitting needles, but crocheting is faster for me.
