Books - New Book Challenge

I found out about the Seafaring Challenge from A Work in Progress Blog!

I will read one of my Oxfam - Bloomsbury, London books (when I find it! I am moving tomorrow!)

Star of the Sea – Joseph O’Connor

I forgot what it's about, but it looks interesting. The UK cover is very pretty also.

My goal - to be a LEFTENENT (as it's pronounced by the Brits.)
I always set low goals for challenges, in case life throws me a real challenge, and I can't read more books. If life is quiet for awhile, I will try to have a higher rank!

I guess the good thing about not reading blogs lately is that I've missed some of the new challenge announcements. You know I can't resist those! ha,ha...

Good luck on your challenge and most importantly good luck on the move!! Call me when you get a chance.

I plan on trying to read one book, too. If I end up reading more--all the better. I have this on my stacks, too. Isn't it a bit of a mystery story? I've forgotten as well....

Hi Ladies,

Today is moving day. I will have internet only at work, because the phone company can't give me land line nor DSL conncetivity until 10/18! Pox on them. The neighborhood that we are moving to didn't flood in the 'Kane. The next door neighbor has a land line.

The book is something about the Irish Potato Famine. I hope it's hopeful.

Hey Maggie,
Ahab's wife can count. She looks at the sea a lot, waiting for her man!

Plus, she has to take care of the household, finances, cooking, sewing, etc etc

And she knows a lot about seafaring!

Did you receive an envelope from me?
